Hiking in the Třebon region
Natural wealth along with a number of historical monuments makes an ideal connection for tourism and recreation.
Nature trails are mainly designed for hiking. Considering the large number of foreign visitors, all the trails are equipped with texts in Czech, English and German, which provide detailed information to the visitor on the natural and landscape points of interest of Třeboň region.
In Třeboň region, there is also a hiking trail along industrial monuments in the Czech –Austrian borderlands, which was built by the Waldviertel Akademie of Waidhofen an der Thaya.

Třeboň - urban conservation area
There is a remarkable Renaissance chateau in Třeboň, where famous archives are housed; unusually well-preserved town fortifications with bastions and gates; a picturesque, elongated town square lined with arcades of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque houses, the most interesting of which are the House of Štěpánek of Netolice and The White Pony House and the Renaissance town hall with a tower; a magnificent Baroque Marian Column and a fountain.

Borovany Bunker (Bunkr Borovany) - military fortification One of the few well-preserved bunkers in Borovany has remained preserved thanks to its being situated in close proximity of railroad tracks; because of this it was not destroyed by fascist artillery. It is one of 36 specimens whose planners took inspiration from the French Maginot Line; the design of these bunkers were later replaced by an improved Czech variant.

Around the world trail (Cesta kolem Světa) - educational trail with posted information The trail starts in the spa park of Třeboň by Hotels Bohemia and Regent and ends by the dike of the pond World. Its 16 stops provide detailed information on natural and landscape values of the Třeboň region. The nature trail was put into service in 1985 and entirely reconstructed in 1995-7.

Falcon's nest (Sokolí hnízdo) - educational trail with posted information Following the nature trail Falcon's Nest you can see most of the typical natural and cultural ecosystems in the area of the Natural Park Novohradské hory. The trail goes near several massive memorable trees - oaks, beeches, ashes, maples, and limes several hundred years old. It starts by the old castle of Nové Hrady in front of elementary school building and includes 15 information panels.

„Hrádeček" health trail (Stezka zdraví „Hrádeček“) The main aim of the trail is to exercise and develop one's physical abilities (speed, strength, endurance, dexterity). On the stops, visitors can test their abilities in various disciplines - arms traveling on bars, high and long jump, climbing a rope ladder, walking on a log, throwing a log, rocking on a seesaw, hurdle race, climbing a rope, pull-ups on horizontal bar and more.

The trail can be divided into several shorter circuits. In Žumberk, you can tour a Gothic fort with an exposition of South Bohemian painted furniture, in Horní Stropnice a Romanesque church, in the village Dobrá Voda, you can refresh yourself from local healing spring or visit the Pilgrimage Church of the Virgin Mary, you can swim in the Veverský rybník pond or go to see the unique pond Přesličkový rybník.

Teresa Valley (Terčino údolí) - educational trail with posted information House Buquoyt built the national natural heritage Theresia's Valley three centuries. The circuit of low difficulty starts near the village Údolí pod Novými Hrady. Its 14 orientation panels introduce visitors to history of the park and any sights, which could be found here.

Totalitarianism Divides... (Totalita rozděluje ...) - educational trail with posted information Nature trail “of Echoes of the Totalitarian Regime in the Countryside and its People”. With Borovan as its starting point, this trail is 6 km long. At the nine points of interest, those walking the trail can become acquainted with the history of Czechoslovak fortification, events that occurred during the Second World War, and life along the border after the Second World War, behind the Iron Curtain.

Veselské sandpits (Veselské pískovny) - educational trail with posted information
The physically undemanding nature trail circuit going from the parking lot next to sandpits in Veselí nad Lužnicí uses 14 information panels in Czech, English and German to introduce visitors to the nature surrounding gravel lakes, history of the countryside and surrounding villages. In the summertime, you can swim in the gravel lakes, which remained after gravel sand extraction in 1952 - 1986.

Vitorazsko Monument (Pamětí Vitorazska) - educational trail with posted information The historical-nature trail with 29 stations, intended for cyclists is one of the works of the trilogy on the history of life in Czech-Austrian borderlands (the other works are Memory of Hen Mountains, Memory of Vitorazska). The name Vitorazsko marks the territory in the region of the Upper Lužnice river basin. The trail is 89 kilometres long and mainly leads along solid roads with asphalt surfaces.

Borovany - former Augustinian monastery
The monastery was established by Petr of Lindy. It was no longer used under the rule of the Rožmberks and was renewed in 1663 by the care of Emperor Ferdinand III. In the middle of the 18th century, the Škapulířová Chapel and representative prelature were rebuilt. In 1785 the monastery was terminated by Emperor Joseph II, the chateau building was owned until 1939 by the Schwarzenbergs.

Museum of František Miroslav Čapek (Muzeum Františka Miroslava Čapka) - museum and former hospital The building of the former municipal hospital, in 1676 it was built by Prince Schwarzenberg. The building was sanctified by Saint John the Baptist and Antonio of Padua. In 1936, Jan of the Schwarzenberg's gave the building to the city, which used it for cultural purposes. Today the city library and museum are housed here. The extensive three-winged building is the only preserved hospital in the South Bohemian region.

Stráž nad Nežárkou - chateau
Guard castle established in the 12th century in the crossing point of the Nežárka River. In the 17th century it was reconstructed into a chateau. In 1914-1930, the owner at the time, Ema Destinnova, lived in the chateau. Later on, the Army of the Czech Republic was housed here for 20 years, followed by the social care institute for 30 years. The building was run down. The current owner has restored it and made it accessible to the public.

Stará Hlína - stone bridge
These are two so-called "flood bridges", used mainly during spring floods since 1789. The longer one with 12 stone arches is 118 m long, 7 m wide and 5 m high.

Water tower (Vodárenská věž)
Water tower dating back to 1909. Replica of Kotera's tower in Prague's Zelena liška. Originally a gas engine powered the pump in the tower, later it was replaced by a more modern electric engine. After the Second World War, the reservoir was no longer in use.

Lomnice nad Lužnicí - lookout tower Wooden lookout tower, which was built not far from the city Lomnice nad Lužnicí. You get a good view of the Velky Lomnice pond from the tower and it is an ideal place for observing wildlife on the pond.

Town hall tower (Radniční věž)
The town hall is a dominant building on the square, reconstructed from two original burnt down buildings. Thanks to Emperor Ferdinand III a four-sided, 31 m high tower with a clock was added to the town hall in 1638.

Červená Lhota - chateau
This renaissance castle is unique not only for its red walls but also for its position in the middle of a lake which mirrors its beauty. It is connected to the land by a stone bridge. The castle gained its today neo-renaissance form at the beginning of 20th century. Formerly in this place stood a stronghold above a small river, which was later adapted to a renaissance castle surrounded by an artificial lake. The castle interiors are of high historical value.

Cuknštejn - fortress
Gradually reconstructed late Gothic fortress. It was built for Squire Vilém Pouzar from Michnice, who ordered its construction as his seat in 1488 to 1491. The fortress has a square ground plan; in one corner stands an octagonal tower and a defensive moat runs around the entire structure.

Baroque chateau from the first half of the 18th century. In the 18th and 19th century it underwent reconstruction. From 1930 it was owned by the Scholastic nun order, later it was returned to them in restitution.

Nové Hrady - castle
The Gothic castle built on a trade route in the middle of the 13th century was overcome by adversity several times, namely by Hussites, imperial army, fire, gunpowder explosion and even by earthquake. Every time, it was restored to its Gothic shape. In the 17th century, the castle was given a Baroque sgrafitto-decorated central house. Castle defenses were provided not only by a massive fortification walls, but also by its unusually deep and wide brick-lined moat.

Budějovice Gate (Budějovická brána)
Gate guarding the western periphery of the town. It was built according to the plan by Dominik Comta and Jan Lukana. It replaced the walled in Břilicka gate next to the chateau. In 1819 it was reconstructed into today's form. The building is richly ornate with graphite.

Regent Brewery (Pivovar Regent)
One of the oldest breweries in the world with years of history. The original old castle brewery was replaced by a new one, which was established by reconstructing the former Rozemberk armoury. It acquired today's appearance in the 2nd half of the 19th century, when it was completely reconstructed. It was owned by the Schwarzenbergs until the end of the war. The trade name of the brewery was inspired by the character Jakub Krčín of Jelčan, who was the regent of William of Rozemberk.

The area surrounding Jan Žižka’s birthplace in Trocnov is dominated by a massive statue of the Hussite general. It was sculpted by Josef Malejovský, who worked on it from 1958 to 1960.

Monastery of The Divine Mercy (Klášter Božího Milosrdenství)
The baroque monastery, St.Peter and Paul was added on to the church of St. Peter and Paul, a church that was originally gothic but the addition was transformed info a baroque church. In the second half of the 20-th century the monastery was occupied by the border patrol but in 1991 it was givin bach to the order of the Servitis. In 2005 the last member of the Servits living in the monastry, P. Bonfilius Wagner, did and the monastry was givin to the Catholic misionary with Papal rights, the "Family of Mary". The monastry is now calledthe "Monastry of Divine Mercy".

The monastery was established by the change of the Trebon rectory under the Rozemburks. The monastery includes the gothic church Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and St. Jilji. On the north side is the monasterial convent with a cloister where you find a heavenly garden and well. In the centre of the monastery's courtyard is a stone fountain.
