The architecture and Rustic Barocco of the Třebon Region

The balanced natural element of landscape is suitably matched with a relatively sparsely populated and the well-preserved unique architecture of historical towns and villages.

Apart from the church in Kardašova Řečice, the Romanesque style does not appear here.

The gothic style is represented primarily by religious buildings (e.g. the Augustinian monastery with the Church of Our Lady Queen and St. Jiljí in Třeboň, churches in Borovany, Suchdol nad Lužnicí, Lomnice nad Lužnicí, Mladošovice, Trhové Sviny etc.) and Třeboň’s late gothic city walls with bastions.

The renaissance style is abundant in Třeboň - the chateau, the town hall, the Church of St. Elizabeth, burgess buildings. The renaissance style also includes the town hall in Lomnice nad Lužnicí, the town hall and buildings in Veselí nad Lužnicí.

The chateaus in the following cities can be included among baroque buildings without a doubt; in Jemčina, Stráž nad Nežárkou, Chlum u Třeboně and Borovany, the former hospital in Lišov, churches in Trhové Sviny, Mláce, Dvory nad Lužnicí, the chapel in Třeboň etc.

Classical and empire buildings can be seen in Trhové Sviny, Stráž nad Nežárkou, Lutov and Chlum u Třeboně.

What is very famous is the neo-gothic Schwarzenberg tomb.

Folk architecture in Třeboň region is significantly influenced by rustic baroque.
